DualSense controller on PC: getting haptic feedback and adaptive triggers

With its games arriving one after another on PC, Sony is openly courting computer players. A sign of the times: in February 2026, the brand announced a DualSense “for PC” in Japan, technically identical to the PS5 controller but sold with a USB-C cable. The good news: the DualSense you already own works perfectly on PC. Here is how to get the best out of it.
Wired or Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is enough for playing wirelessly, but to enjoy haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in compatible games, you need to plug the controller in via USB. That is precisely why Sony ships a cable with its PC version.
Settings worth knowing
- Steam recognises the DualSense natively: set it up in Settings › Controller.
- PlayStation games ported to PC (God of War, Horizon, Ghost of Tsushima, Marvel’s Spider-Man…) generally make use of its advanced features.
- Outside Steam, some games see the controller as a simple generic device: a configuration utility may then be needed.
Which games benefit?
Support varies from one title to the next. PlayStation ports and several big productions, such as Cyberpunk 2077, use the haptics and the triggers. Many other PC games settle for ordinary rumble. Before buying a game, look for “DualSense” on its store page or in its control options.
Why it is a trend
The DualSense is becoming a “universal” controller: console, PC and even the PlayStation Portal remote player. One controller for all your screens, with what remains one of the best gaming feels on the market.
